While fashion seems to interest women more than men, men nowadays are understanding the basics on how to dress well and why it’s such a good thing to maintain ones appearance. Not only does maintaining your appearance make you look and feel better overall, it leaves a much better impression on your peers that you take the time to dress nicely and take care of yourself. But while buying new clothes and putting some outfits together are a great feat, we can’t forget about the world of clothing maintenance and alterations in Dallas.
We in a seemingly disposable society that believes when something doesn’t fit right anymore, it’s time to get rid of it, as opposed to spending some money to have the proper alterations made. Some think that it costs more and they might as well go out and buy something new. The reality is that alterations can be a money-saver and allow you to get more life out of a piece of clothing that you love.
While there are a multitude of different alterations that can be done to salvage a piece of clothing, most of the time it only takes a basic touch up. So, for you guys out there that may not know much about alterations, here are the five most common pant alterations in Dallas.
Full thigh adjustment
A full thigh adjustment is one of the more common alterations because of how much our bodies can change. A full thigh adjustment is an alteration that is required when the thigh of the pant is too tight around the thigh. When having this adjustment made, it will not affect the length of the pant, how the waist fits or the inseam. It’s a simple fix to add a little space in the thigh so it can fit comfortably.
Shortening the rise
It’s fairly self-explanatory, you need to shorten the rise of the pant when it is too long. When having this alteration done, it may result in the pant sitting higher on your waist than when the pants were first bought, however, it will not affect the side seams or the measurements in the waist.
Shortening the depth of the crotch
If you purchase or own a pair of pants that seem to have some bagging or excess fabric in the crotch, that’s when alterations in Dallas are necessary. Shortening the crotch gets rid of that excess fabric that causes the bagging and will help fit your body more comfortably and is much more flattering. Having the crotch shortened will not affect the inseam length or the measurements in the waist.
Lengthening the back rise
Similar to how fabric can bunch in the crotch, you may also find pants that hug your bum a little too tightly. This is when lengthening the back rise is necessary. Lengthening the back rise allows there to be more room in the pants so that it’s more comfortable and doesn’t look like you have a constant wedgie. This type of alteration will not affect the side seam length or the inseam.
Adjusting the waist
This is a fairly straightforward one, but altering the waist is necessary when the waist is too small and needs to be increased. Doing this will not alter the side seams or the inseam.
